Why are we creating our own NSFHT Family Physician & Nurse Practitioner Waitlist?
We are establishing our own local waitlist to better support individuals in our community who do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner. By managing the list ourselves, we're able to better understand and respond to the specific healthcare needs of our community and connect individuals with available providers more efficiently.
How do I add my name to the NSFHT Family Physician & Nurse Practitioner Waitlist?
Simply add your name to the list by filling out the waitlist form above.
Who is eligible to join the NSFHT Family Physician & Nurse Practitioner Waitlist?
Any permanent resident of North Simcoe without a family doctor or nurse practitioner is eligible to join the waitlist. Please note that the North Simcoe area includes Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny (Wyevale, Wyebridge, Perkinsfield, and Lafontaine), Tay (Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, Waubaushene, and Waverly), and Christian Island.
How long will it take to be matched with a primary care provider?
Once you are on the list, our team will work to match you with a primary care provider based on availability, your health needs, and your location. The time it takes to be matched can vary depending on the number of people on the list and provider availability, but we do our best to match patients as quickly as possible. We strive to make the process as simple and supportive as possible.
What if I need medical care while waiting to be matched?
If you require medical care, please utilize the available resources listed below. For emergencies, please go directly to the Emergency Department.
